*Based on your reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being optimal well being), where do you rate your A-physical well being, B-spiritual well-being, C-psychological well-being? Why?
~I find this a very hard question to answer fully at this time because I am pregnant, and feel terrible all the time! So A = 6 B = 9 and C = 3-5 depending on the day and fears during pregnancy! I think that I am normally a very happy and calm person, yet because of the pregnancy and all of the complications that I have already been having it has turned me into a nervous person!
*Develop a goal for yourself in each area (physical, spiritual, psychological).
~Physically I hope to stay safe during my pregnancy, then after continue with my weight loss plan. Spiritually I would like to become more connected with my emotions. Psychological I would hope that I can continue to think positively and relate it to how I can do things and complete things.
*What activities or exercise can you implement in your life to assist in moving toward each goal?
~I think that I will do more yoga and meditation to fulfil these goals. I also love Pilate's. I think that things like taking a walk every day is also beneficial.
*Complete the relaxation exercise The Crime of the Century. To hear this exercise, click here. Describe your experience. (What it beneficial? Frustrating? etc.)
~I found this similar to the previous exercise. I found it to be a little bit less effective than the last one though. I like the voice and the music though. It was a deep breathing exercise that focused on relaxation therapy. I think that it would be incredibly relaxing if it was done while I was getting a massage or something. Rainbow therapy is definitely relaxing. It did help me to feel grounded and connected with myself. Although, it was supposed to make me feel more energized, I kept on falling asleep during it rather than getting that source of energy. I actually had to listen to it about 6 times to make it through the whole thing. Which in the end was not very relaxing after all. I think it may have been possible that I was too tired when listening to it, so I did not receive the full effects that I could have.
I can't wait to hear what you all have to say and how you all felt while doing this exercise!
Have a great week!
Sara
Hey Sara!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe we are already in week 3. Like you, I find this class fantastic!
I think yoga is a wonderful idea. Is there a class in your area for pregnant women? Not only will yoga help you feel better now, it will also help with delivery, and how you feel after the baby is born.
Are you going to keep trying meditation exercises outside of the assignments? Even a few minutes of meditation or just living in silence can be beneficial to overall well-being.
You mention you are always nervous due to complications. When you feel your anxiety increasing, ask yourself if you are doing everything you can for yourself and the baby. And, the things you have no control over, acknowledge them and release them. I know it's harder than it sounds but with practice your worries will disappear.
"See" you in seminar!
Hey Sara!
ReplyDeleteIt's me again. Meditation cards or reflection cards are just positive thoughts for the day. It has been my experience that the card chosen (or the card chooses you)can be applied to whatever the person is going through at the time. Some have meditation or journaling exercises. I even have a deck that encompasses art projects into the practice. The spirituality section in bookstores are where to find them. I love them.
Thanks for all of the great comments. I have been trying to make sure that I am doing all that I can do to make the baby and myself safe.
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to do some meditation. I have netflix so I just found the prenatal yoga on there, and plan to do it. I have not found a class in my area that I am able to afford yet, but I am still looking.
I think those cards are a great idea. I am going to go look at all of the stores and try to find them!
Sara
First of all congratulation on your pregnancy and hope things go well. I regret getting myself sterile because I always had the thought of having four but ended up with three instead. So I'm jealous of you.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to remain positive and not putting anymore stress upon yourself when you are always concern about your unborn child. It seems like you are heading the right direction taking care of yourself. Keep thinking positive and continue with your meditation.
